3.6L Pentastar™ V6 with eTorque
Entry-level Ram 1500 models come equipped with the brand’s venerable 3.6L Pentastar™ V6 engine with a mild hybrid eTorque system. This powertrain generates 305 horsepower and a net torque figure of 355 lb-ft. This powerplant is rated to tow up to 3,496 kgs (7,710 lbs) when equipped with a 4x2 drivetrain, while 4x4 models receive a maximum tow rating of 3,383 kgs (7,460 lbs).

For owners who require heavy-duty towing capabilities out of their half-ton pickup truck, we highly recommend upgrading to either one of the 2023 Ram 1500’s available 5.7L HEMI® V8 engines. Generating 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque (add an extra 135 lb-ft for eTorque models), these engines are more than ready for heavy-duty towing.
